Regional Networking Project

 

  Derulat in perioada 1995-2003 in parteneriat de catre birourile Freedom House din Budapesta si Bucuresti, programul a constat in training-uri on-site in Romania dar si in Statele Unite cu ONG-uri locale si organizatii media, prin Proiectul Regional de Networking (RNP). Cu o valoare totala de 1 milion de dolari, programul a ajutat la stabilirea unor parteneriate de scurta sau lunga durata intre ONG-uri romanesti si din Europa Centrala si de Est, cu scopul de a incuraja activismul civic, a contribui la sustenabilitatea sectorului nonguvernamental si a influenta direct politicile pe probleme cheie precum stabilitatea regionala, reforma guvernamentala si drepturile omului.

  Principalele activitati ale programului au fost:

  •   operarea de granturi pentru organizatii non-guvernamentale si think-tank-uri din Europa Centrala si de Est
  •   organizarea unor stagii, atat in Europa de Est cat si in Statele Unite pentru reprezentanti ai societatii civile
  •   finantarea conferintelor si campaniilor create de organizatiile locale ale societatii civile din Europa Centrala

Mission Statement
Freedom House is an independent nongovernmental organization that supports the expansion of freedom in the world. Freedom ultimately depends on the actions of committed and courageous men and women. We support nonviolent civic initiatives in societies where freedom is denied or under threat and we stand in opposition to ideas and forces that challenge the right of all people to be free. Freedom House functions as a catalyst for freedom, democracy and the rule of law through its analysis, advocacy and action.
